The Hagley Golf & Country Club has a thriving Senior's section with over 100 members enjoying their retirement years playing with those of similar age. The section is open to all male members of 60 or more years, and is fully integrated with the Men's Golf Section.
Formed in 1987 at the instigation of the Chairman of the Golf & Country Club, Roy Savin, the section has gone from strength to strength, This year the section will be celebrating its Jubilee, organising many midweek competitions as well as playing friendly matches against other local clubs. This has enabled us to forge close ties with seniors from these clubs and accounts for the success of the Hagley Seniors Open, held in June each year. The Open admits those players from any club who hold an official handicap and are over 55 years of age, with prizes being offered for three divisions, based on handicap, with an overall winner and best visitor score.
Building on the success of The Hagley Seniors Open, the section also hosts a Seniors Mixed Open, again for players over 55 years of age.
Whilst offering opportunities for competitive golf, the raison d'etre of the section is to promote fellowship and friendship.
